Triumph Scrambler 400 XC Teased, Launch Soon
The Scrambler 400 XC will come with multiple visual updates over the standard Scrambler 400 X while priced around Rs 3 lakh (ex-showroom)
Triumph Motorcycles has teased the upcoming Scrambler 400 XC on its multiple social media handles ahead of the official launch. It is likely to launch in the coming week in the Indian market while positioned above the standard Scrambler 400X with a premium in price around Rs 25-30k. Triumph Scrambler 400 XC is expected to come with several cosmetic updates to distinguish it from the 400X. Though mechanically it will retain the same 398cc liquid-cooled engine with identical power and torque figures.
The biggest highlight of the Scrambler 400 XC will be the cross-spoke wheels with tubeless tyres as compared to the 400 X which rides on alloy wheels. In addition, it will boast of coloured beak, windscreen and sump guard for engine protection. It is believed to be the more off-road focused version of the Scrambler 400 X.
The teaser image also indicates the roll out of a new Yellow colour which has not been seen before on any Triumph bike in the middleweight segment. The Scrambler 400 XC will carry the same hardware and cycle parts as the 400 X. It will be offered with 43mm USD front forks and rear mono-shock suspension with adjustability. The braking duties will be helmed by a 320mm disc unit at front and 230mm disc at the rear.

Mechanically, Triumph Scrambler 400 XC will be packed with the same 398cc single-cylinder liquid-cooled engine which generates maximum power of 39.5 bhp and highest torque of 37.5 Nm. The engine is linked to a 6-speed gearbox. The Scrambler 400 X misses out on quickshifter even as an optional feature and hence, it is quite likely that the Scrambler 400 XC could be offered with this feature.
Presently, Triumph Scrambler 400 X is sold at a sticker price of Rs 2.67 lakh (ex-showroom). Notably, the pricing of the motorcycle has not witnessed a significant change since its launch in the Indian market. On the other hand, the Speed 400 initially went on sale at Rs 2.23 lakh but now it costs Rs 2.46 lakh in the domestic market.
The Scrambler 400 XC is believed to be costing at least Rs 30,000 more than the 400 X. Hence, it is safe to assume that it could be priced around Rs 3 lakh, which is in the same ballpark as the Royal Enfield Himalayan 450 and KTM 390 Adventure X in our country.
