Kia Clavis MPV To Be Officially Launched In India On May 23
Kia Carens Clavis will be positioned in a more premium manner compared to the regular Carens; will be sold with three engine options
Kia India added the more premium Carens Clavis to its lineup a few days ago. Prices are set to be revealed on May 23, 2025 just ahead of customer deliveries. While retaining the familiar three-row seating configuration, the Clavis brings some visual and mechanical updates. Bookings have already opened both online and through authorised dealers nationwide.
The exterior comprises a new closed-off grille accompanied by cube-shaped LED headlamps and integrated daytime running lights, complemented by a redesigned bumper and air inlet. At the rear, connected LED tail lamps lend a more streamlined appearance while the addition of 17-inch dual-tone crystal-cut alloy wheels and new metal-finished skid plates distinguish it visually from the standard Carens.
Stepping inside, the Carens Clavis gets a major overhaul featuring a wide 26.62-inch panoramic display that merges the digital instrument cluster and the central infotainment unit. Key upgrades include one-touch electric tumble seats for the second row, a walk-in lever for easier third-row entry, roof-mounted diffused air vents and integrated seat-back air purifier modules. A new Ivory Silver gloss paint option has been added to the palette.
Premium enhancements extend to Level 2 ADAS tech, a 64-colour ambient lighting system, an 8-speaker Bose sound system and a dual-pane panoramic sunroof. Additional equipment highlights include a 4-way powered driver’s seat, ventilated front seats and a dedicated button-based toggle system that allows users to switch between infotainment and climate controls on the move.

Kia will offer the Clavis in seven trims: HTE, HTE(O), HTK, HTK+, HTK+(O), HTX, and HTX+. Under the hood, it retains the trio of engine choices: a 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol, a 1.5-litre turbocharged petrol and a 1.5-litre diesel. The turbo-petrol now gets an added 6-speed manual transmission alongside the existing DCT and iMT setups. Meanwhile, the diesel version continues to offer both a 6-speed manual and a torque converter automatic.
The Clavis packs in several standout features, headlined by a segment-first remote auto up/down window function. It also includes a 360-degree camera paired with blind view monitoring, rear-door-mounted spot lamps and wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. Other noteworthy features are connected car technology and support for over-the-air updates.
